Dynamic Water Training

“Would you love to get more experience with dynamic water? Now’s your chance! Rock, Paddle, Surf Kayak Coaching is offering a special day of training for members of SMSKN on June 9th! The course is designed to develop skills for safe and enjoyable kayaking in dynamic water, playing in and around rock gardens and surf zones. Topics will include, but are not limited to, kayak stokes, reading water, situational awareness, safe zones, launching in the surf and onto / off of rocks, reading the surf zone, incident management and much more! Don’t miss this chance to up your game!
The head coach for this event will be Kevin Beckwith of Rock, Paddle, Surf Coaching. His credentials include: British Canoeing Advanced Sea Kayak Leader, ACA Level 5 Advanced Open Water Instructor, UKCC Level 2 Coach, P&H Kayaks Team Paddler, Registered Maine Guide,ACA State Director, Executive Council, Massachusetts
A 4:1 coach to participant ratio will be maintained with a limit of 8 participants. SMSKN will subsidize 10% of the class fee for members, bringing the cost for SMSKN members to $63.00.
Trip Level: Intermediate. Participants should have experience with bracing, wet exits, and re-entry.

Bring: Sea kayak, paddle, PFD, Spray skirt, helmet, lunch, and water. Dress appropriately for cold water.
