SUMMARY:Fee Event - Portland Paddle: On-the-Water Sea Kayak Navigation
DESCRIPTION:Join SMSKN members for an active on-water navigation course tau
 ght by Zack Anchors\, co-founder of Portland Paddle. This course is approp
 riate for all skill levels\, and will include land based activity as well 
 as a significant amount of time on the water. You will learn and practice 
 navigation skills including reading a nautical chart\, plotting a course\,
  taking and following bearings\, crossing boat channels\, dead reckoning\,
  using ranges\, paddling in fog and low visibility\, and using a VHF radio
 .\nThe total cost for SMSKN members is $93. Portland Paddle is providing a
  10% discount and SMSKN is providing an additional 30% discount\, giving m
 embers a 40% discount off the regular fee of $155.\nParticipants are asked
  to bring a handheld compass and a nautical chart of Casco Bay. These item
 s are also available for purchase at Portland Paddle. Bring your sea kayak
  and gear\, including appropriate on water clothing lunch\, snacks\, and w
