DESCRIPTION:This is a FEE EVENT: In partnership with Portland Paddle and th
 e SMSKN skills team\, this workshop is for members who want to build confi
 dence and skill in dynamic water conditions. After reviewing and demonstra
 ting calm-water rescue skills\, participants will head into the more expos
 ed waters off Crescent Beach. This is an opportunity to hone your skills. 
 We'll practice rock gardening\, surf launches and landings\, reading rough
 -water environments\, risk assessment\, and rescue techniques. Registratio
 n will open in May.\nTrip Level: Intermediate. This workshop is NOT design
 ed for novice kayakers\, should be comfortable with wet exits and T-rescue
 s before participating.
