Greetings SMSKN members, Ashley here. Consider joining me and my co-host, Jen on a paddle from Cousins Island to the Goslings, and help me complete a personal goal of mine; plan and organize my first self navigated SMSKN paddle! If my bearings are correct (I’m confident they are) and no souls are lost at sea, well conclude with some celebratory bubbly beverages on the beach when we return! (beverages provided)
Trip Description: Depart Sandy Pt. Beach on Cousins Island, passing between Little Moshier and Moshier, then east to Little French where we’ll stop for a stretch and snack break. We’ll continue our paddle to the Goslings for lunch. We’ll start our trek back, departing the Goslings to the south east side of French, then on to the south east side of Moshier, then back to Sandy Pt.
Details:
Launch: Sandy Pt beach on Cousins Island. There is a bit of a walk from the parking lot, down a sloped dirt path to the beach. We’ll need some teamwork moving boats!
Time: Meet at 9 am, beach briefing at 9:30 am, paddles wet before 10 am. Return 3:00 pm
Duration: 5 hours (4 hours of paddle time and 1 hour for breaks, paddling at 2.5 mph).
Distance: 10 nm
High Tide: 11:25 am
Low Tide: 5:22 pm
Weather: Too early to tell, but we’ll make a judgement call the day before. Check the event chat for updates!
Other: PDF, spray skirts, safety gear, boats of appropriate sea worthy length required. Dress for immersion.
