North Yarmouth Academy’s (NYA) Kauffmann Program: Sea Kayak Academy is offering an Introductory Sea Kayak Program that is free to All Maine high school students Grades 10-12.
The program will go from 9AM-4PM in Yarmouth, Maine. NYA will provide all gear including boats, paddles, wetsuits, and safety equipment. Instruction will be provided by Ian Ramsey (BC Advanced Sea Leader and Coach) with assistance from student paddling leaders.

The Kauffmann Program creates environmental and adventure-based learning opportunities for students at NYA and the larger community, including outdoor instruction, backcountry trips, speakers, and visiting writers. We believe that if humans directly experience the earth, they will care about it and for it. Themes of conservation, resilience, and environmental thinking and writing are core to the program. Additionally, students learn how to manage consequential outdoor situations through training, mindset, and physiological tools. For more, go to:
