I wanted to reach out to see if you and your team might have interest in getting involved with an annual event we have taking place in Casco Bay on Sunday, August 10th.
Our event is called Casco Bay Islands Swimrun and this year is the 9th annual running. 400+ athletes will be swimming between the islands and running over the trails as they make their way from the start on Chebeague to the finish on Peaks.
Each year we work with the Coast Guard, Harbormasters and seek out Volunteers to lead vessels (kayaks, SUPs and motorized boats) to provide oversight and encouragement for our participants during their passages.
We’ve worked with numerous organizations in past years and offer donations or compensation depending on the time and number of Volunteers they can provide on race day.
We’re able to offer $100/kayak and also offer a meal post-race and a t-shirt for helping with the coverage in one of our prescribed course sectors. We are willing to offer a bit more to an ambitious kayaker who wants to stay and help longer.
