Registration is now open for SMSKN’s second Muscongus Bay exploration based at Maine Audubon’s Hog Island camp.

Our home base for this trip will again be the beautiful Hog Island Audubon Camp. We’ll arrive on Monday morning, September 14 and depart Thursday afternoon, September 17. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be spent on the island in the Porthole Lodge, which has ten double and four single rooms and shared bathrooms (see https://hogisland.audubon.org/programs/lodging-porthole). Audubon staff will prepare breakfasts, lunches and dinners for us. They will provide pack-your-own lunches to take with us on our paddling trips.

Each day we’ll divide up into paddling groups based on interest, so whether you’re interested in sheltered paddles, bird watching, rock gardening or a distance paddle to a destination, there will be something for you!

Our group will be on Hog Island at the same time as Audubon’s Fall Migration program and will be able to attend evening lectures by Audubon’s instructors (Scott Weidensaul, Holly Merker, Sara Morris) on Monday and Wednesday nights.

To take advantage of this opportunity, we need at least 10, and no more than 20, SMSKN members to sign up for this trip.

Cost for this adventure is $525, all inclusive. To reserve your spot, two things are required:
1. RSVP to this post on Meetup.
2. Once we have at least ten members sign up for this trip, you will need to send your $525 payment to the SMSKN bank account. Instructions will sent to you by email when you RSVP in Meetup. Please make sure that SMSKN has your current email and cellphone number so we can communicate with you about this trip. If you need to update your contact info, please send us a direct message via Meetup.

Also, please check your Meetup settings to ensure you can get SMSKN emails, event updates, and direct messages from SMSKN members.

More details will be sent to participants by email closer to the event.
