In partnership with Portland Paddle, SMSKN is offering this workshop for members who want to build confidence and skill in dynamic water conditions. After reviewing and demonstrating calm-water rescue skills, participants will head into the more exposed waters off Crescent Beach. This is an opportunity to hone your skills. We’ll practice rock gardening, surf launches and landings, reading rough-water environments, risk assessment, and rescue techniques. Registration will open in May.
Trip Level: Intermediate. This workshop is NOT designed for novice kayakers, should be comfortable with wet exits and T-rescues before participating.
