These sessions are going to be coordinated by various folks from the Skill Building Team at SMSKN. This session will be organized with a focus on rolling pointers, offered by Cheri Perry. A short bit of time will be spent reviewing the roll on land. For safety and learning purposes, we are going to be pairing up participants, no need to bring a partner! But that does mean some of your time will be spent standing in the water assisting your partner, so please dress WARMLY (as shown in the picture above).

Participants are encouraged to share their own knowledge and experience with other paddlers so that we all learn from and support each another.

Bring: sea worthy kayak with attachable spray deck, kayak must float when swamped, PFD, paddle, paddle float and pump, immersion clothing appropriate for water temperatures (and you may be in the water a lot for this practice session, including standing in the water supporting a buddy) snacks, water, thermos of hot beverage for after session and warm clothes to change into.

To ensure everyone safely gets the most out of this practice session, attendees should already be proficient in the following skills: Have a solid wet exit, know basic paddling strokes.
Trip level: Beginner (Level 1) and above

Please check weather and tide conditions before arriving so that you can prepare appropriately.

We will preview roll on land a bit at 3:00, and boats should be ready to go at that time.

Please take the time to print out, sign and bring SMSKN statement of understanding to the event/meetup. The Event organizer will really appreciate your token of proactivity.
